Puddleducks Nursery is a wholly-owned trading subsidiary of Wandsworth Voluntary Sector Development Agency (WVSDA) a registered charity.

Our values, vision and mission are based on delivering excellent value for money and service for our customers.

The nursery staff team is led by the charity Chief Executive, Stefan Kuchar, who, as the OFSTED nominated officer, shapes the overall strategy and direction of the organisation.

Stefan has extensive experience working in early years child care provision as well as being a father to 3 daughters too. He has worked in the public, private and voluntary sectors and has led the charity since 2001.

As chief executive, Stefan provides direct line management support to the nursery manager. Stefan also reports into a board of trustees of the parent charity WVSDA.

Stefan is responsible for providing the following support:

• human resource management including developing effective policies and procedures, recruiting, selecting and inducting staff;

• criminal records bureau checks on all staff,(as we are a registered CRB body) and ensuring that staff comply with the new vetting and barring service;

• facilities management, ensuring that the nursery complies with all health and safety regulations and that a programme of maintenance is undertaken;

• early years support, ensuring that nursery staff have access to advice, information and training on all aspects of safeguarding children and early years curriculum;

• marketing, including developing promotional, public relations and direct marketing activity to increase awareness of the puddleducks brand;

• Parents Forum, including developing an effective engagement process so that parents can meet with the management team to discuss service improvement.


Additionally, the nursery staff team is supported by Tina Champion, Deputy Chief Executive, WVSDA. Tina has extensive experience working as an accountant and has been with the charity since 2003.

Tina is responsible for overseeing the following services:

• Financial management, including developing effective policies and procedures, budget setting, monitoring income and expenditure, petty cash and procurement;

• catering management, including managing the on-site contract caterers to ensure that we are providing nutritious, tasty meals for staff and children alike;

• cleaning management, including managing the cleaning company to ensure that there is a high level of cleanliness and hygiene at all times;

• Information, Communications and Technology, including providing an effective service to enable e-mail, Internet access and database management;

• grant-making administration, including promoting and developing grant making programs for individual and charitable beneficiaries.
